 About Me

UTC

My name is Scott Batson. I was born and raised in Carolina Beach, North Carolina which is located in the southeastern part of the state along the coast. I am an only child, my father was a commercial fisherman and my mother worked for the United States Postal Service. I began many of my interests as a child. My love of the Great Outdoors came from being a Boy Scout ( Made Eagle Scout !! ).  It was only natural that I would become interested in geology, meteorology, astronomy, etc. The Earth & Sky have and always will fascinate me, this pushed me toward getting my Bachelor Science Degree in Geology from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Most of my career has been working in the field doing mineral exploration and mining. A few of  my other accomplishments  include receiving my Private Pilot license( Single Engine Land ) and  an Amateur Radio license( Technician Class ). Click here to see some photos of me throughout my life.

Now I live in my wife's hometown Morganton, North Carolina.
