Both the cameras are
mounted on the north side of the chimney on top of my house with the
Ground Camera pointing toward the West and the Sky Camera
toward the North-Northeast (better view of sky and away from the camera
damaging Sun). For a more complete explanation of the camera's setup and
operation look at the
Station Setup page.
The Ground Camera is
pointed down toward my front yard. This allows the viewer to see wind
blowing tree branches, precipitation such as rain, snow, etc. The Sky
Camera show the conditions above SCO such as cloud types,
visibility, etc. Also from time to time the cameras will catch other
events such as the yard being mowed, birds flying by, and even the
occasional rainbow. |
